First Two Clutches from 1.2 Trio Crested Geckos

This page includes photos of the first two clutches of crested gecko eggs that I hatched out. They were incubated at room temp. (70-72F) in a four inch deep deli cup with a medium of 1 part sand to two parts coir (coco fiber), the medium was pulled directly from where they were laid, I found them as I was moving their parents to a new enclosure. From the time I found the eggs to the hatching date a period of about four to four and a half months had passed.

First to hatch second hatched two days later. Forgot to mention layer of sphagnum moss on top of incubation medium, wetted occasionally with spray mister (RO water only) throughout incubation period.

Left: 5.5 gallon aquarium in use for newly hatched crested geckos. False bottom technique involving pvc pipe, flourescent light egg crating, and screen. layer of gravel on top of screen then planting mix two parts coir to one part washed beach sand, plants include dwarf mondo grass, collected moss, and a collected creeping vine, grasses and other plants grew up out of moss. In back right corner baked cut and siliconed tree ears. Baked at 375F for fifteen minutes cut with mitre box saw, siliconed in place with 100% silicone clear. Rock collected, wood collected.

First baby on finger to give a little perspective to size they all hatched out between 2" and 2.5" head to tip of tail, all with a strikingly brick red coloration that changes to their parents faded yellow at night.
